Lauren Kate's first novel in the Fallen series is by far my favourite out of all the books I've read this year. The first of what will be a four volume set has definitely found in me a very loyal readers. It's very easy to be drawn into the world of Sword & Cross and fall in love with Luce and Daniel. I have no doubt that these star-crossed lovers will be facing many obststacles to their love in the future, but I desperately hope that it culminates in a happily ever after. I also found it refreshing to read a Young Adult novel with both of the heroine's parents not only alive buy loving and caring. The only thing that did upset me was getting to the end and realizing I was going to have to wait until the fall to find out what happens next. I sincerly hope that the sequel, Torment, is as entertaining and captivating as it's predecessor.
